Portable power stations have become an essential part of modern film productions, allowing crews to run lighting, charge batteries and power monitors without relying on mains electricity.

At Cine Hire, the DJI Power 1000 and DJI Power 2000 are two of our most popular rentals for location shoots across Brighton and Sussex. But which one is right for your production?

DJI Power 1000 Mini: Perfect for Recharging

The DJI Power 1000 is an excellent choice for running low power lights, recharging camera batteries, and keeping laptops or video village up and running. It is very compact for it capacity.

DJI Power 2000: Built for Lights

For bigger lighting setups or longer shooting days, the DJI Power 2000 provides extra capacity and flexibility. It's a great option for powering high-output fixtures such as the Aputure 1200X, easily handling the output required.

If you're unsure how much power you'll need, it's often worth choosing the larger unit to give yourself extra headroom.

What Can They Power?

Pretty much anything with a plug! With AC mains plugs, high power USB-C, and standard USB you are covered for everything. Notably the DJI Power 2000 has the ability to output a safe continuous 3000W for power hungry kit, whereas the DJI Power 1000 Mini has a more modest continuous output of 800W, suitable for small to medium lights and recharging.

Do You Have Anything Smaller?

If you’re just looking to charge from USB-C and keep a laptop or similar small items running for the day then maybe the Anker C200 DC Power Station will save a lot of weight.

Build a Complete Location Power Kit

Portable power is only part of the setup. We also stock:

  • V-Mount batteries for compatible lights such as the Aputure F22C

  • Extension cables for greater flexibility on set

  • Heavy-duty tarps to help protect equipment from unexpected weather

  • Magliner carts for transporting power stations, lighting and grip equipment around location

Hiring everything together means you arrive on set with a complete, ready-to-go solution.
